A bit about the Bay

Flagstaff Bay is a 200 m long, north-west facing beach contained between a long, rocky point and a small creek that drains out against the northern headland. The western half of the beach is backed by about ten shacks, with the creek and a few mangroves behind the eastern half. The 30 m wide beach is fronted by a flat low tide bar.

The beaches all offer usually calm to low wave conditions, with the best conditions occurring at high tide. However, watch for submerged rocks off many of the beaches.

Fishing – Best in the bay and off the beaches, particularly off the many rocks at high tide.
